A delightful dessert that combines creamy cheesecake with sweet, tart apples and a luscious caramel drizzle.
Ingredients
- Cream cheese: 450 grams (16 oz), softened
- Granulated sugar: 200 grams (1 cup)
- Eggs: 3 large
- Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
- Graham cracker crumbs: 200 grams (about 2 cups)
- Unsalted butter: 100 grams (1/2 cup), melted
- Fresh apples: 2 medium, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
- Ground cinnamon: 1 teaspoon
- Caramel sauce: 150 grams (about 1/2 cup), plus extra for drizzling
- Pinch of salt: A small amount
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F).
- In a mixing bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and a pinch of salt. Press into the bottom of a 23 cm (9-inch) springform pan.
- Bake the crust for 8-10 minutes until slightly golden. Let it cool completely.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add granulated sugar and mix well.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Toss sliced apples with ground cinnamon and a tablespoon of sugar in a medium bowl.
- Pour the cheesecake filling over the cooled crust and arrange the cinnamon-sugar apple slices on top.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly.
- Turn off the oven and leave the cheesecake inside with the door slightly ajar for 1 hour.
- Cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Drizzle with caramel sauce before serving.
