For the coffee drizzle:
- 60 ml (1/4 cup) strong brewed coffee
- 50 g (1/4 cup) powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8-inch round cake pan by greasing it and lining the bottom with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, cocoa powder, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix the wet ingredients: eggs, melted butter, cooled coffee, milk or cream, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gently fold the wet mixture into the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the toasted sliced almonds, pour the batter into the prepared pan, and smooth the top.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
- While the cake bakes, prepare the coffee drizzle by whisking together brewed coffee and powdered sugar until smooth.
- Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before drizzling with the coffee mixture.
