Description

Shrimp tacos with creamy slaw are a delicious and quick meal that combines tender shrimp with a zesty slaw for a perfect balance of flavors.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • 1 cup green cabbage, finely shredded
  • 1/2 cup carrots, grated
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Lime wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, combine shrimp with olive oil, chili powder, garlic powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat and marinate for 15-20 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix mayonnaise, sour cream, lime juice, honey, and a pinch of salt. Stir until well combined, then add cabbage, carrots, and cilantro. Mix until coated.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook marinated shrimp for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque. Remove from heat.
  4. Warm tortillas in a dry skillet or on a grill for about 30 seconds on each side.
  5. Assemble tacos by placing shrimp in tortillas and topping with creamy slaw. Garnish with cilantro and serve with lime wedges.
