Description

A delicious and easy meal featuring tender pulled pork with tangy barbecue sauce served on soft sandwich buns.


Ingredients

  • 2 to 3 lbs pork shoulder
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • Salt and pepper
  • 4 to 6 sandwich buns
  • Additional barbecue sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. Trim excess fat from the pork shoulder and season generously with salt and pepper.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix barbecue sauce, chopped onion, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, and yellow mustard.
  3. Add the seasoned pork shoulder to the slow cooker and pour the marinade over it. Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours or on high for 4 to 6 hours.
  4. Once cooked, shred the pork using two forks.
  5. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix with the remaining sauce. Let it soak for an additional 30 minutes on low heat.
  6. Assemble the sandwiches by piling the pulled pork onto the buns and drizzling with extra barbecue sauce if desired.
