A delicious and moist Spiced Date Cake topped with a sweet cinnamon drizzle, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients

- 200 g (1 1/2 cups) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 150 g (3/4 cup, packed) brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 115 g (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, melted
- 120 ml (1/2 cup) milk
- 200 g (1 1/2 cups) chopped dates
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the cinnamon drizzle, you will need:
- 60 g (1/4 cup) powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1–2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Prepare the dates by chopping them and soaking in hot water for 10 minutes.
- Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
- Combine the wet ingredients in another bowl.
- Fold the wet and dry ingredients together, then add the soaked dates.
- Pour the batter into a prepared cake pan and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 40-45 minutes.
- Prepare the cinnamon drizzle while the cake is baking.
- Cool the cake, drizzle with cinnamon mixture, slice, and serve.
Notes
- Use Medjool dates for best results.
- Adjust spices according to your taste preferences.
- Consider adding nuts or chocolate chips for variation.
